GOING TO BELLE-ÎLE

Located 15km off the Quiberon peninsula, Belle-île-en-Mer is accessible by boat, all year round from Quiberon, and from April to September from the ports of Vannes, Port Navalo, Le Croisic or La Turballe.

To get to the island with your own vehicle, you must use the Compagnie Océane’s roll-on/roll-off ships from Quiberon. Advance booking is essential.

A small aerodrome, located in the heart of the island, welcomes private planes (light aviation) and connections on demand from the mainland (Vannes, Lorient, La Baule and Ile-de-France) by 6/8 seat plane or helicopter.

The nearest airports with national and international services are Nantes, Lorient and Rennes.

The nearest TGV station is Auray, located at the entrance to the of the Quiberon peninsula.

In July and August, the legendary “Tire-bouchon” connects Auray station to Quiberon station. Out of season, the link is provided by buses from the “BREIZHGO” network.

TRAVEL TO THE SITE

Once you have arrived on Belle-île, there are many ways to get around if you have decided to go to the island without your car.

A network of regular bus lines serves the main towns on the island – Bangor, Le Palais, Locmaria and Sauzon – as well as the essential tourist sites.

Les Cars Bleus offers day or half-day excursions to discover the main attractions of Belle-Île.

Rentals of cars, scooters, electric bikes, bicycles are possible. Do not hesitate to ask for a bike rental when you make your reservation, they will be waiting for you at the Villa Métairie on your arrival.

Within a 10 minute walk from the Villa you have access to the shops of Locmaria (bakery and mini-market), restaurants, the beaches of Port Blanc and Port Maria, as well as the coastal path.
